The Olympic games opening yesterday was a great ceremony. We are fighting over the heavy weather conditions in Whistler for 7 days already. The ski runs are soft due to the warm weather and the rain, that has not stopped for the past several days. The strangest thing is that the official downhill will take place without any official training, which I think surpasses all normal logic. FIS have always been tolerant towards the best skiers, but this has gone over the top. All teams here are against this way of conducting except the Americans and the Norwegians, who think this is normal.

I would like to thank all who have supported me during this difficult for me season - my parents, relatives, friends and my girlfriend Maria! They all believed that I will get to the great forum to defend the name of Bulgaria on the Olympic games. Also I would like to thank my general sponsor QBE, for securing the resources for my training and competition. I cannot miss to mention also the great help from IOC - BOC and the scholarship, that I was granted. Regardless of the fact that I was not in the team, the Federation helped me with the equippment without which it would be difficult for me to race and train.
Thank you all and good luck to all sportsmen in Canada!
